Triathlon/Duathlon Rescue Engine on Lumberton Job June 27th - At 13:38hrs the day crew was alerted to 10 Black Pine Lane in Lumberton on the structure box. RE1712 (D'amico) was responding in minutes with 5 and Chief 1710 (S.Pratt) shortly after. E1311 arrived first due to find an active dryer fire and were quick to contain the same. The crew from the Rescue Engine was assigned as truck company to division 1 and finished opening up and secured utilities. Crews cleared the fire in about 30 minutes. Red Trucks vs. Green Trucks June 22nd - In an effort to enjoy the summer just a little bit more, the Vincent Fire Company challenged Medford Farms Fire Company to a Sunday morning game of softball at Memorial Field in Vincentown. With game time finally arriving, there were two well-represented teams ready to have some good times playing softball. Although the game was just a bit lopsided in score (in favor of the red trucks) after 9-innings of play, both teams enjoyed the time spent both on the field and back in quarters for the BBQ that followed. The Vincent Fire Company is looking forward to “hitting the road” in the near future as the second game will be hosted at their home field. Lieutenant Gets Deployed
June 5th - Lieutenant Chris Allen is part of the 114th Infantry, Reconnaissance Platoon which is set to be deployed June 18. Orders will be taking him over to the Operation Enduring Freedom efforts that are continuing in the Middle-East region. As it stands, his orders will be in effect for 12-months, brining him back at some point during the summer of 2009. On behalf of the Vincent Fire Company, we would like to wish you and your platoon a safe deployment as you fight for the freedoms which we enjoy each and every day! We look forward to your safe return! May 30th - Just after 21:00hrs stations 179, 171 and Medic 31 were dispatched to RT 206 in the area of Mobile Estates for a motorcycle accident. Chief 1710 (S.Pratt) and RE1911 (in the area) were on location within a minute of dispatch and reported a motorcycle vs. a vehicle. The motorcycle rider was in serious condition and required aero medical. RE1712 (Spencer) was detailed to the landing zone assignment and E1713 (D'Amico) was detailed to the scene for support. BLS care was started by FD personnel and was transferred to Medic 31 and Ambulance 5092 (Mt. Holly) upon their arrival. SouthStar ended up landing adjacent to the scene. Northbound RT 206 was closed for about 2 hours. The members returned to quarters just before midnight. Tractor well Involved
May 30th - Around 10:35hrs the station was alerted to RT 206 just south of RT 38 for a tractor fire. Chief 1710 (S.Pratt) arrived on location and reported a farm tractor well involved. RE1712 (C.Allen) arrived and stretched a 1¾" hoseline and made quick work of the fire. Tender 1716 (Oatman) arrived seconds behind RE1712 and secured their water supply. Engine 1713 (D'Amico) was also on the run and provided overhaul and cleanup support. Memorial Day 2008
May 26th - Members participated in the 128th Annual Memorial Day this morning. The parade, which runs along Main Street in Vincentown, has been a long running tradition in the village. Members spent the majority of the holiday weekend preparing the apparatus and the station grounds for the event. First Due Engine to Tabernacle
May 17th - While the members and the Chief were on the street, Taskforce 4310 was dispatched for the dwelling on Richter Road. Chief 1710 (S.Pratt) and RE1712 (D'Amico) were on the air and responding immediately. Chief 1710 arrived with Chief 4300 (Welling) to find a S/F/D with nothing showing. RE1712 with 6, arrived as the first due engine company and sent their crew to the basement division. The crew was faced with a moderate smoke condition throughout the basement, which was found to be a result of paper products burning in the fireplace. The same was removed from the dwelling and extinguished outside while Q4314 assumed truck company operations. RE1712 and Chief 1710 were back in quarters within the hour. May 17th - At 19:04hrs the structure box was struck for White Dotte Communications at the intersection of RTs 38 and 206. Chief 1710 (S.Pratt) was on the street and quickly answered up for the call and was provided the report of a smoke condition from the roof. RE1712 (Spencer) responded with 5 and T1716 (Heffernan) with 2. RE1911 had a jump on the call and arrived first due and stretched a handline and took to the interior to secure utilities. RE1712 arrived second due and assumed truck company operations on division "A". After opening up, RE1712's crew quickly found the seat of the fire to be on the roof with an electrical device to be at fault. The assignment was quickly held with 171 units. Chief 1900 (Bozoski) had operations. Chief 1710 had command. May 12th - Minutes after clearing the rescue box, the members were alerted to respond for the MVC at the intersection of Ridge and Retreat Roads in Southampton Twp. RE1712 (D'Amico) with 5, quickly answered up and headed that way. Upon arrival, crews assumed patient care and secured the vehicles while awaiting the arrival of Ambulances 1791 and 1792. Crews cleared the call in under an hour. E1713 (Wortham) also assisted with the run. Two Pinned in Second Rescue for the Day May 12th - While returning from a previous call, the rescue box was put out for RT 206 and Woodlane Road in Eastampton Twp. RE1712 (D'Amico) answered up and responded with a crew of 5 immediately. Arriving first due, RE1712's crew split between the two vehicles, each having one trapped from what appeared to be a near head-on type collision. The vehicle that was resting upright on the roadway required a door-pop and "B-post" removal to compete the rescue. The second vehicle involved had come to rest on the passenger-side off the roadway and immediately required stabilization with Paratechs prior to the roof removal in order to complete the rescue. E1713 (Bicking) arrived second due and assisted with the rescue efforts. Crews were clear from the incident in under an hour. May 12th - At 14:02hrs Engine 171 was alerted to respond to Creek Lane in Pemberton Twp. for reports of a tree down across power lines. RE1712 (C.Allen) arrived to find the same and was soon released by Utility 1918 due to their services not being needed. May 12th - While a Nor' eastern storm was approaching, the members started their day just after 06:00hrs with being alerted to 100 Miss Mable Road at the Southampton Twp. Schools 2 & 3 for the alarm system. Chief 1710 (S.Pratt) arrived quickly and found the activation to be accidental in nature and quickly recalled the assignment as RE1712 (D'Amico) was loading up in quarters. Two Pinned in Early Morning Rescue May 11th - At 23:50hrs the rescue box was being sent to Church Road for a MVC with reports of at least one pinned. Chief 1710 (S.Pratt) arrived and reported a vehicle into a pole with two pinned in the vehicle. RE1712 (C.Allen) arrived and went into service. Due to the position of the patients the vehicle was stabilized, the front door removed and the seat back removed. E1713 (D'Amico) arrived just as the first patient was being removed. The crew from RE1712 continued patient care while the crew from E1713 stepped in to finish the extrication and remove the patient from the backseat. Both patients were turned over to BLS and ALS and the company returned to quarters around 00:30hrs.
