Willow Lane Garage Fire
July 6, 2005
Early morning July 6th a Full box was dispatched to Willow lane in Southampton for a reported structure fire. DC Willitts (17101) would arrive and find a heavy smoke condition in a semi-detached garage of a large new home under construction. RE1712 would arrive first due and investigate finding a fire that had started in the middle of the garage floor with assorted chemicals and materials. The Engine's crew extinguished the fire and opened up the building. Other units on location were Engine 1311 (Lumberton), and Utility 1728 (Hampton Lakes). Companies would clear after the county fire marshal's investigation. The fire was believed to be started due to spontaneous combustion due to the types of stains and chemicals being stored in the garage in close proximity to one another.
