Ladder 9035 Drill

March 23, 2004

On Tuesday night March 23rd Station 171 hosted a drill in the Cedarwick section of the township.  Chief 1710 was challenged by the members of Station 903 in Burlington City to try and flow 2000 gallons per minute through the aerial of Ladder 9035.  This task was completed with flowing just over 2,000 gallons per minute for a little over 2 minutes.  What made the task more challenging was that the water supplied to the ladder was being trucked in by tankers and being dumped into two portable ponds set up on the site.  The water was then being fed through the ladder by Engines 1712 and 1911 (Pemberton Boro).  With flowing 2,000 gallons a minute each 3,000 gallon pond was empty in a little over a minute.  Engines 1713 and 1912 were set up at a draft point to refill tankers as they made their route.  Tankers that helped out in the exercise were 1716 (Southampton), 1847 (Pemberton Twp.), 4311 (Tabernacle Twp.), 1314 (Lumberton Twp.), 2137 (Jobstown Fire Co.), and 3716 (Medford Lakes).  Engines 3421 and 9031 stood by to cover all companies participating in the excercise.  Thank you to everyone that showed up to help out.
