Cutting Torch Drill

May 18, 2004

Tuesday night May 18th the Vincent Fire Company recieved training on their new cutting torch set to be added onto Rescue Engine 1712.  Firefighter Chris Irick whom has a detailed background in the craft of metal work in his occupation instructed the class.  Members were put to the task of having to cut through different thicknesses of metal to get a feel for how the torch works.  At the end of the class, a filing cabinet with materials inside was given as a challenge to go from one end of the cabinet to the other cutting through all different obstacles with one torch working it's way to the middle from each side.  A special thanks again to Chris for all his help and expertise.
