RIT Drill
March 2, 2004
On Tuesday night March 2, 2004 Station 171 visited Lumberton Fire Company Station 131 for a RIT operations drill organized by Lumberton Lieutenant Tim Pearson. The members from both stations were split into RIT team crews of 4 or 5 and put through a smoke filled building search simulation inside Station 131. Lieutenant Pearson closed up the station and used a smoke machine to simulate the smoke filled environment with minimal visibility. Firefighters had to make their way through a maze of tables and chairs while practicing open area search techniques. Everyone who participated learned something new. The Vincent Fire Company would like to thank the Lumberton Fire Company for hosting us at their drill as well as a special thank you to Lieutenant Tim Pearson for all his help.
