Trailer Fires in Mobile Estates
April 15th – At 0533hrs the station was dispatched to the previous trailer fire for a possible rekindle. Chief 1710 (S. Pratt) and RE1712 (D'Amico) answered up and were enroute within minutes. Firefighter Oatman was in the area for work related issues and reported to the Chief that there was a significant amount of fire coming from the same trailer. Due to the strong spring storm moving through the northeast the winds were blowing at about 40-50mph. This took the fire from one end of the trailer to the other in minutes. The Chief and Rescue Engine arrived to find fire blowing from every window. The crew from the Rescue Engine stretched 3 hand lines in order to protect exposures on Divisions "A" and "D". Due to some units being out of position due to the spring storm, E4311 arrived as the second due engine just as RE1712 was running out of water. The crew secured the water supply then went to work backing up the hose lines. RE1911 arrived and was assigned to assist the first in crews. Tenders from Hampton Lakes, Tabernacle and Medford all arrived shortly after and brought our water crisis to an end. RIT 251 was also on the assignment and was assigned to assist with overhaul. Both fires are under investigation by the Burlington County Fire Marshal's Office and the New Jersey State Police. The members would like to extend thanks to all of the companies who assisted at these jobs.

One crew being sent to the roof to open up, one crew was sent to the interior and the balance assisted with ground ladders, replacing broken hand lines and chasing kinks. While this was being done, the chauffer of 1716 supplied both engines that had handlines on the fire. The truck work was intense due to the construction of the roof and the attic floor. The members returned to quarters just as the sun was coming up.
