Tender picks up a fire in the Boro

March 28th – Around 1515hrs Task Force 191 was dispatched in Pemberton Boro to 112 Fort Dix Road for the dwelling fire. Within seconds 1900 (Bozoski) was on the air advising he had a large column visible. He arrived on scene to confirm a 3 story S/F/D with heavy fire showing from side "D" divisions "1" and "2". 1900 placed all companies in service and added Station 171 to the assignment. T1716 (Woods) responded with 4 and arrived to establish a water supply and assist with suppression and overhaul operations. RE1712 (McElroy) was diverted to Station 191 for the cover. Crews cleared in about two hours.

March 27th – As members were just finishing up their dinner prepared by the line officers after the company meeting, the station was alerted to respond on the structure box to Oak Leaf Court in Tabernacle for a reported dwelling fire. Chief 1710 (S. Pratt), RE1712 (D'Amico), E1713 (B. Pratt) and T1716 (K. Snow) were quickly on the street responding with 18 firefighters. E4311 arrived on location advising they had a washing machine fire which had already been extinguished. The assignment was held with E4311 and E4312 sending our Volunteers back to the firehouse to finish off dessert!

March 27th – Just before 0200hrs RE1712 (C. Allen) and T1716 (D'Amico) responded on the structure box to 28 Moore Road in Tabernacle for a reported dwelling fire. Chief 4300 (Welling) along with E4311 arrived with fire showing. E4311's crew placed an 1¾" hose line in service and made quick work of the fire. RE1712's crew assisted with salvage and overhaul operations. T1716 secured water supply for E4311 due to T4316 being out of service.

March 26th – Ten minutes after returning to quarters, the Volunteers were on the street again responding to the structure box in Presidential Lakes for a reported dwelling fire. Chief 1710 (S. Pratt) along with RE1712 (B. Pratt) and T1716 responded on the assignment. Chief 1840 arrived to find an active chimney fire. The Rescue Engine arrived at staging for a short time prior to all units being returned. 

March 26th – Shortly after dinner time, Station 171 was dispatched on the structure box to 48 Patty Bowker Road in Tabernacle for a reported dwelling fire. Chief 1710 (S. Pratt), RE1712 (B. Pratt), and T1716 (E. Snow) responded on the assignment along with units from Station 281 and Tender 2516. The assignment was held with Station 431 units to investigate a problem with the water heater and all other units were returned shortly before arrival.

Juvenile gets Airlifted

March 25th – The members were alerted to the area of 1855 RT 206 this evening for a motor vehicle crash. Chief 1710 (S. Pratt) signed enroute and was advised that it was a quad accident involving a juvenile. Also responding to the incident were Chief 17101 (Snow), RE1712 (D’Amico), Support 1718, Medic 33, and BLS1783. The Chief arrived to find a juvenile complaining of abdominal pains. Medics then arrived and began a full patient assessment. The patient was secured to a long board by fire and EMS personnel. The Medics determined that the patients’ injuries could be life threatening and requested aero medical to fly. RE1712 and Support 1718 responded to the Red Lion Circle to establish a landing zone. Southstar landed 5 minutes later and the patient was air lifted to Cooper Trauma Center in Camden.

Walk-in reports MVC

March 22nd – (18:20) While in quarters, the Volunteers were alerted by a walk-in for a MVC on RT 206 at the Main Street intersection. RE1712 (A. Allen) was quickly responding with 6 and arrived to find a two vehicle crash with one patient needing medical attention. Crews were quickly tasked with securing the scene and packaging the patient while awaiting arrival of BLS.

Small Fire in the Wall

March 22nd – (15:37) The structure box was dispatched for a building fire at 1793 RT 206 at Jake's Escape. RE1712 (Bicking) arrived first due with 6 to find a one story eating establishment with light smoke showing from eves on the D/C corner. Fire was found in the wall behind the exhaust hood in place over the grill and deep fryer. Crews gained access to the fire from the exterior wall and soffits while making quick work of knocking the bulk of the fire. T1716 (D'Amico) and T4316 crews checked for extension with negative results. Other units on the run were T1314, T1726, and E1723.

March 21st – (15:36) The company was alerted to 107 Landing Street for a high fall victim. Chief 1710 (S. Pratt) arrived to find two workers at a construction site who had fallen approximately 35ft to the ground. ALS and BLS crews were on scene and began patient care as RE1712 (D'Amico) arrived and split their crew between patient care and the LZ. Medical crews advised they would be flying one via South Star and transporting the other by ground.

The Village Express gets a call in the Village

March 9th – The structure box was alerted at 1400hrs to a possible house fire at 213 Main Street in the Village, having a resident reporting a smell of smoke. With a full crew, RE1712 (Spencer) arrived to find nothing evident from a split-level S/F/D. Interior crews were tasked with announcing their presence to the homeowner who was enjoying the comforts of home while awaiting our arrival, and were directed to the laundry room for the possible source. Upon further, it was discovered that the dryer outlet had shorted itself and started to melt. Crews secured utilities to the room and secured the dryer. 17101 (Snow) had command and held the incident with RE1712.

Rescue Engine runs 2nd Alarm

March 7th – Just after 1230hrs, having a full engine crew in quarters, RE1712 (D’Amico) was on the street headed to Mt. Holly on the 2nd Alarm for the building – a high rise known to locals as The Regency Park Apartments.  Upon arrival, the crew was split with the Captain’s crew assigned to Division 5 with the remainder of the crew being assigned to Division 6 – both with orders to vent, enter and search.  With searches coming back negative, the two crews reported the same back to Operations.  Within minutes the Captain’s crew was headed back in, to the fire floor to finish overhaul operations and the other crew was tasked with assisting resident evacuations to a local school where a shelter had been established.  After operating for just under 2 hours, the volunteers assisted in-district units get back in service and returned to quarters before 1500hrs, ready and waiting for the next run while keeping the Rescue Engine's motto alive and strong…Anytime, Anywhere!

Basement Fire in Southampton

March 3rd – The structure box was dispatched to the area of Washington St. and S Pemberton Rd just after 09:00.  Chief 1710 (S. Pratt) signed enroute and was advised of a passerby reporting heavy dark smoke from the roof of an unoccupied structure.  Chief 1710 arrived to find a single story wood frame with heavy smoke from the basement.  RE1712 (D’Amico) arrived as the first due and stretched the 150’ bumper line to the basement via a door on Div C.  Tender 1716 (B. Pratt) arrived and picked up 12’s water supply.  The IC placed all companies in service adding RE1911 and RIT251 to the assignment.  RE1911 arrived as the Rescue Engine and was assigned to Div 1 to vent, enter and search.  T1314 arrived and stretched a 2nd 1 ¾” line to Div C.  The crew from RE1911 found extension into Div 1. They retreated to grab another line and stretched it into Div 1.  E1713 and E1722 arrived and were assigned to the roof division.  The fire was placed under control within 15 minutes and is still under investigation.

Basement Fire in Tabernacle

March 1st – At 02:45 Chief 1710 (S. Pratt), T1716 (D’Amico), and RE1712 (B. Pratt) were on their way to the 1400 block of RT 206 for the house fire.  Chief 4300 arrived to find a working basement fire.  Chief 1710 got assigned to Div C.  T1716 arrived and picked up the water supply to T4316.  RE1712 was sent to Div C to advance a line into the basement.  That crew and an advance from the interior stairs had the fire out in minutes. The company returned to quarters just after 06:00.
