February 28th – At 08:26 Rescue Engine 1712 responded to RT 206 just south of RT 38 for a motor vehicle collision. The crew assisted EMS and contained fluids from the vehicle. Later that evening the station was alerted to IFO 1887 RT 38 for the motor vehicle collision. Chief 1710 (Pratt) and DC 17101 (Snow) arrived to report 2 vehicles in the middle of the highway with one injury. Rescue Engine 1712 arrived and began EMS. Engine 1713 handled the fluids and utilities. BLS 5091 (Mt. Holly) transported the two patients to Virtua Mount Holly.
An Unusually Slow Week 2/20 - 2/26
February 26th – Sunday brought only one alarm system activation on Dunstable Rd that was handled by E1722 (Hampton Lakes). Rescue Engine 1712 (B. Pratt) was recalled upon arrival.
February 25th – Saturday evening things picked up a little with three incidents. Around 18:00 Chief 1710 (Pratt) Tender 1716 (D’Amico) and Rescue Engine 1712 (Woods) ended up on Birmingham Rd for a report of a possible structure fire. Chief 1710 arrived to find a large pile of brush on fire in the middle of an open field. After checking the owner’s permit the units were quickly recalled. Just before 22:30 Chief 1710 (Pratt) and Rescue Engine 1712 (D’Amico) were on their way to Josh Lane to investigate someone setting their trailer on fire. Units arrived to find this not to be the case and quickly went available. While returning to quarters the station along with Vincentown EMS and Medic 31 were sent to IFO 2197 RT 206 for the motor vehicle collision with a report of an unconscious person. Chief 1710 arrived to find a SUV off the highway into the woods. The driver was conscious and refused medical treatment. After securing the vehicle the companies returned to quarters around 23:30.
February 23rd –An automatic fire alarm brought us one more incident for the week that was handled by Rescue Engine 1712 (Bicking).
February 22nd – We did not receive our first run of the week until late Wednesday night. RE1712 was alerted to Pheasant Circle for an EMS lift assist.
Weekly Wrapup 2/12 – 2/19
February 17th – RE1712 (D’Amico) and E1713 (Bicking) responded to Mt. Holly a little after 09:00 for the automatic fire alarm. Chief 5000 quickly recalled units due to the false alarm. At 11:37 a wires call was handled at Eayrestown and Church Rd. Then finally around 18:00 RE1712 (B. Pratt) responded to Pemberton Township for the structure fire. RE1712 was staged at Station 184 and was later made available.
February 16th - Just before dinner RE1712 (D’Amico) along with E1722 were alerted to RT 206 in front of Red Lion Plaza for the accident. RE1712 handled the incident by assisting EMS and securing the vehicles. E1722 was quickly made available. Before that incident was complete the companies were on their way to Burrs Mill Rd near Retreat Rd for the accident. Chief 1710 (Pratt), E1713 (Clark), E1722 and U1728 responded and found the accident to very minor in nature and quickly went available.
February 15th – Around 22:30 Tender 171 (B. Pratt) was dispatched on the second alarm to RT 70 in Medford for the building fire. RE1712 (Snow) was detailed to Station 251 for the cover. Medford firefighters made a quick knock on the fire and the second alarm was quickly recalled. RE1712 returned to quarters at 00:30 Thursday morning.
February 13th – The day started out with a bus accident. (See Below). Later that afternoon the station was dispatched to South Pemberton Rd for a truck fire. DC17101 (Snow) and RE1712 (D’Amico) responded and found nothing.
February 12th – Companies started the day being dispatched to Friendship Rd. for a tree across the road at about 03:00. The County Highway Department quickly answered up and stated that they would handle the incident. Just after lunch the station along with station 172 (Hampton Lakes) were being alerted to Friendship Rd. and New Rd. for an automobile. Engine 1722 and Utility 1728 arrived to find an engine compartment well off. Due to mechanical issues with the Engine, RE1712 (Bicking) arrived soon after and extinguished the fire. The crew from E1722 overhauled the vehicle and forced the hood for crew of RE1712. Soon after the auto, both stations were on their way to New Rd. and R 70 for wires. Engine 1722 arrived and handled the incident with the help of Southampton Township Public Works.
RE1712 on School Bus Accident
February 13th - Around 9:30 AM Monday morning companies were dispatched to Hilliards Bridge Road near Eayerstown Road in Southampton for a Motor Vehicle accident involving a school bus. On the initial dispatch was BLS stations 179, 178, 139, 258, 349, 379, 439, and Engines 171 and 171. Units began arriving on location to find a School bus that had gone off the roadway landing in a drainage ditch on it's side. The assignment was held to RE1712 along with 3 BLS units. Of the 14 children on the bus, only 2 had to be transported to Memorial Hospital for observation. All others suffered no real injuries besides a scare from when the bus they were riding in ended up on it's side.
