Another Day, Another Extrication
September 6, 2005 - Around 6 AM a rescue box was dispatched to South Pemberton Rd. in front of Vincentown Florist for a reported motor vehicle accident with a vehicle into a pole and 1 trapped sending BLS1792, RE1712, RE3421, and E1722. RE1712 responded fully staffed to find that there was no accident on South Pemberton Rd. and it was now being reported on Vincentown Pemberton Rd. 1/4 mile off Route 206. U1718 arrived to find a vehicle that had struck a motorcycle and then a pole. RE1712 arrived and went in service with cutting tools removing the passenger seat to free the passenger pinned under the dash. The patient suffering from a femur fracture was flown to Helene Fuld Medical Center via Southstar. RE3421's (Ewansville) crew stood by with an 1 3/4" hand-line for safety and RE1911's (Pemberton) crew assisted with the extrication. E1722 handled the LZ at the Municipal complex. Units cleared after 30 minutes. This all would have been prevented if the passenger were wearing their seatbelt.

Another Extrication....This time at Route 70 & Old Red Lion Rd.
September 4, 2005 - Just after 3 PM Stations 172 and 178 (Hampton Lakes) were dispatched to Route 70 in front of the Green Top Farm market for a motor vehicle accident. Engine 1722 would arrive to find the accident at the intersection of Old Red Lion Road where one vehicle had been t-boned and was in a drainage ditch with water and the driver still trapped. The assignment was upgraded to a Rescue Box bringing Rescue 171, Engine 431, and Rescue 439. Rescue Engine 1712 would arrive and go in service with the spreaders removing the driver's door while working from a ladder stretched across the ditch. The crews from E1713, U1718, U4317 and E4312 would assist in making a human chain to pass the patient out across the water. All 171 and district 43 units cleared within 30 minutes.
