2 Alarm Fire in Tabernacle

July 30th - Around 4 AM companies were dispatched to Buttersworth Boggs Road in Tabernacle Township for a reported structure fire.  Tanker 1716 with 5 personnel responded on the initial dispatch.  Command 4300 (Tabernacle) was en route when given the report that this was called in by the neighbor down the street stating there was heavy fire coming from the garage.  4300 could see a visible column in the air and requested "all companies in service" signifying a working fire and requested the 2nd alarm upon arrival with a 2 bay attached garage well-off and extending into the dwelling.  1716 would be the 3rd due fully staffed Engine crew and would work as the "truck crew"  with 2 crew members going to the second floor and the other 2 going to the first floor to start opening up walls and pulling ceilings to stop the fire from spreading.  Chief 1710 would have interior command and with the hard work of the crew would stop the fire from spreading any further into the dwelling.  RE1712 would respond on the 2nd alarm dispatch and set up a draft point at Four Winds Farm.  Click here for more pictures.

Fire in Garage

July 6th - Early morning July 6th companies were dispatched to Willow lane in Southampton for a reported structure fire.  DC Willitts (17101) would arrive and find a heavy smoke condition in a semi-detached garage of a large new home under construction.  RE1712 would arrive first due and investigate finding a fire that had started in the middle of the garage floor with assorted chemicals and materials.  The Engine's crew extinguished the fire and opened up the building.  Other units on location were Engine 1311 (Lumberton), and Utility 1728 (Hampton Lakes).  Companies would clear after the county fire marshal's investigation.  The fire was believed to be started due to spontaneous combustion due to the types of stains and chemicals being stored in the garage in close proximity to one another.  Click here for more pictures from the incident.
